Argentina — good to know

Argentine ATMs charge a fee set in dollars, typically 8 to 12 US$ per withdrawal. Its peso equivalent therefore tracks the exchange rate: the figure shown on screen can change noticeably from one month to the next even though the real cost hasn't moved. Since the fee doesn't depend on the amount, one withdrawal at the ceiling costs far less than several small ones.

Good to know: These fees are charged by the local bank (ATM owner). Your own bank may also charge additional fees. Total cost = local ATM fee + your bank's fee.
Good to know: If the ATM offers to convert to your home currency, always decline! By choosing to be charged in local currency, your bank applies the exchange rate, which is usually much better than the ATM's rate.
Good to know: Some banks limit the amount per transaction. You can sometimes make multiple withdrawals in a row to get more.
Good to know: Before traveling, notify your bank to avoid having your card blocked abroad.
Good to know: Some online banks (N26, Revolut, Wise...) offer free or reduced-fee withdrawals abroad.

the max withdrawal are unrealistic, no country would have a 2 USD / EUR / GBP limit
